Yesterday, MJ and KP came over armed with the first season of Gossip Girl. I was skeptical. I mean, I love the new 90210, but that could be because of the Brenda/Kelly storyline, which I L-O-V-E. The teens are okay, but sometimes I’m not super interested in them.
I was wrong. Any skepticism I had was unwarranted. Jesus H… This is a quality program. If you haven’t already been hooked on this show, you should be.
Seriously, this show has everything. BFF drama that ranges from the general you-haven’t-been-there-for-me stuff (in the real way, not just in the angsty teen way, which I appreciate) to the you-slept-with-my-boyfriend stuff, which is always amazing. The bad-girl-who-claims-to-be-good-now-but-everyone’s-skeptical stuff. The uncool-but-oh-so-handsome-boy stuff. The siblings-who-actually-get-along stuff. The parents-have-a-secret-that-involves-sex-drugs-rock-n-roll-and-possibly-paternity stuff. The drugs-alcohol-attempted-suicide stuff. And I could go on and on.
MJ, KP, and I watched four episodes yesterday, which I think showed incredible restraint. It was mostly because KP had dinner plans, which I’m trying not to be upset about, but I’m chalking it up to restraint. I’m also chalking it up to restraint that I’m not cancelling plans tonight so that we can continue watching. Instead we’re going to get back to the discs on Tuesday. I hope. Otherwise, I will have to start cancelling plans. It’s a requirement.
